Doll Fun Special # 6: Mini Magazine Holder for Dolls!

Do your dolls like to read miniature American Girl magazines? Have you ever needed a place to put all those tiny magazines?

Here is a simple craft, in which you can make your very own mini magazine holder for your doll/s! :)

Materials: You will need a mini cereal box, some pretty wrapping paper/colored paper, scissors, and glue!

Directions: Begin, by cutting the thin side vertically and then cutting the front diagonally. Afterwards, cut wrapping paper and glue it to your holder! Then put your doll's magazines inside! And there you have it... a perfect mini magazine holder!

Check back soon for the February Doll Fun Special! (I am so sorry the January one was so late.)

Doll Fun Special # 5: Holiday Hairstyle

Hello everybody!

Happy December! I have some exciting holiday themed things planned for you this month, including a giveaway!

My first thing for you is a holiday themed Doll Fun Special!

For this hairstyle, you will need a brush, pretty ribbon, and small ponytail holders!

To begin, gather a small strand of hair on each side and braid it. Then tie them each with hair elastics and tie them together with a ribbon.

It should look something like this when you're finished!

This is a cute hairstyle, perfect for your dolls during Chistmas or New Years with a fancy dress!

The Bag: Decorate the small bag with fall decorations!

How to Make the Candy: Cut out small brown rectangles and add a decorative strip around the candy bar. I got mine from the Doll Party Book. Shape a circular shape of colorful clay and stick a toothpick into it for the lollipop! You can also use a clean mini candy box and playfood for candy.

Doll Breakfast Ideas! Doll Fun Special # 3

Happy October!

Since it is the first day of the month, you know what that means... A NEW Doll Fun Special!! :) Does your doll like breakfast food? Pancakes, Eggs, or Bacon? Breakfast food is so easy to make for your dolls, so here is a bunch of fun and easy breakfast ideas for to make!

(If you have not eaten breakfast yet, you might want to first because this post made me hungry. lol)

The first one is the simple plate of food I made from the Michaels AG craft event!

Sunny- Side- Up- Eggs, Toast, and Bacon!

Charlotte likes bacon! :D

To make this delicious "meal", cut out squiggly circles of white craft foam and squiggly shapes of reddish/brown craft foam for the bacon. Glue a yellow circle on top of each squiggly circle of white foam to make the "eggs" For the toast, cut out two triangles of white craft foam and color them light brown with a crayon or colored pencil. Add two small butter sized squares of yellow craft foam on top of each piece of toast.

The second breakfast idea is Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, and Toast!

To make the previous breakfast a little different, cut out squiggly shapes of yellow craft foam for "scrambled eggs."

The third idea is Bacon, Eggs, and a Poptart! I got the poptart idea from Karen on the Doll Diaries post about doll breakfast. I made the poptart a little differently though.

For the poptart, just cut out a rectangle of white craft foam and color it light brown. Then add a smaller rectangle of pink craft foam on top. Take a red pen and put dots all over it for the decorations.

Your doll might also like Sunny- Side- Up- Eggs, Sausage, and a Pancake!

Cut out to curved strips of brown craft foam for the sausage. The pancake is one of my favorites! Cut a circle of white craft foam and color it light brown. Add a small square of yellow craft foam on top for the "butter."

Who doesn't love Waffles with Strawberries and Whip cream, Eggs, and Sausage? Yum!

The waffles are simple too. Cut out two peachy colored squares of craft foam and glue them together. Make lines vertically and horizontally across for the waffle lines with a light brown pencil. Glue a curvy piece of white craft foam on top for the whipped cream. Add two small strawberry shapes on top for the strawberries. (You can also use other fruit if you want.)

It should look something like this when you are done!

Your doll will be sure to love all of these breakfasts! Have fun making them! I hope you enjoyed this Doll Fun Special!

As usual, if you want to share any ideas for future Doll Fun Specials, please email me at agfan2010@aol.com. I will also add the past Doll Fun Special to my page at the top of my blog, so you can easily read past posts.

Some Changes and Updates

Hi everyone!

I decided to make a few changes to my blog. Some of you have asked me to put your banners/buttons on my blog. My right sidebar was becoming very crowded and I don't think I have much picture space left in it.

So... I have moved your buttons/banners to my Links page instead. If you do not see your button in my sidebar, that is where it is.

I updated my Awards page as well, so you can go apply for one if you want.

Regarding the future Doll Fun Specials, if you have any ideas I would love it if you emailed me.

Most of you have probably heard of the American Girl Contest. There is also a similar type of contest for A Life of Faith dolls, which you may be interested in. I am now hosting this contest over at Life of Faith Doll Contest. No one has signed up yet... In the past we had people sign up though.

I have also added a Back to School Giveaway button on my right sidebar, so you can easily enter!

(I am very sorry I am only able to ship to the U.S. I know that some people were disappointed. :( My mom only wants me to ship to the U.S. otherwise I would definitely do it. I hope you'll understand.)

Anyway, I just wanted to notify of all blog updates and changes. :)

Bye for now,

Back to School Fun! Doll Fun Special # 2

Have you gone back to school yet? I went back on Tuesday. It was my first day of eleventh grade, junior year of high school! The homework load is definitely heavier this year and I have a lot of activities as well... sigh... I wish it was still summer.

Since it is around the time you go back to school, I decided to do a Back to School themed Doll Fun Special! Have fun reading some school ideas!

A few years ago I found some miniature school accessories, which are perfect for dolls!

Some of the things I found include, notebooks, sticky notes, tape, rulers, a stapler, and scissors! The calculator was made from the Doll School Craft Kit!

I also found these mini gel pens an eraser.

This backpack is also just too cute!

You can probably find these types of items at your local pharmacy, dollar store, or party store. They are not usually too expensive. I found mine at two pharmacies near me.

This is Molly's desk that my older sister is letting me borrow for a little while. I can store some of the supplies in here!

These lunchboxes I got from Target. They were selling these adorable Coca Cola and Sprite lunch boxes in the dollar section. Using clay, you can sculp "food" for your dolls and pack it for them in their lunchboxes. :) I got the idea from Doll Diaries! Target sometimes has surprise doll sized finds in their dollar section, so you might want to check it out!

You can also make many doll sized school supplies yourself! You could make a mini compostition book for your doll by cutting out pieces out of an old notebook (with a parent's permission) and stapling paper in between them. Cutting slips of paper and making pretend worksheets is another fun idea.
Go HERE to check out a tutorial on how to make a doll school locker!

For even more doll school craft ideas, check out the Doll School Craft Kit from American Girl!

What have you made for your doll? Have you made any school supplies for them?

P.S. If you miss a Doll Fun Special, you can easily read any past ones from the last months in my NEW page titled Doll Fun Specials. (I add the one from the previous month each time I post a new one.)

Also, check back tommorow for a Back to School Giveaway!

My Doll Display!

Do you have a special place where you keep your dolls? Do you display them somewhere?

I have a special place for mine in my room, where they are displayed! :)

I keep them on top of my book case, where most of my American Girl/doll related items are stored underneath. I keep some other AG/doll things in my closet and in other places around my room when I am not using them. I also have a smaller book case where my AG books are kept.

My American Girl storage area!

My Doll Room! I made many of the items found in this room and sewed the quilting for the bed.

I used a Hello Kitty trunk and covered it with a cloth and turned it into a desk as well.

I have also been collecting the AG Catalogs for a long time now.

My own American Girl library! :D lol

Thanks for reading about my American Girl display and storage area! :)

Where do you store your AG things? Do you have a doll room? I would love to know!

Please check back soon for another exciting Doll Fun Special! If you have any ideas for future Doll Fun Specials, please email me at agfan2010@aol.com.

Doll Food: Doll Fun Special # 1!

Welcome to the first Doll Fun Special! I have a fun craft to show you all, which you can easily make for your doll/s!

You will need some different colors of clay. Sculpey clay is a good brand. You will also need a clean work space and a paper plate to put your clay on. You might also want to use some tools such as a knife, so you can shape the clay into "food".

I recently made a bunch of foods for my dolls using this clay! I made s'mores, a chocolate chip cookie, a banana popsicle, a hamburger, a pepperoni pizza, and a lollipop.

For the s'more, just get some light brown clay, dark brown clay, and white clay. Then cut two small doll sized squares of the light brown clay and shape them into two graham crackers. Add some dark brown clay and white clay in the middle for the melted marshmellow and chocolate.

The lollipop is very simple to make. You just shape some dark pink clay (or what ever color you want) into a circle and slip a cut tooth pick through it.

If you want to make a chocolate chip cookie, mold the light brown clay into a small circle and add little "chocolate chips." (pieced of dark brown clay)

I love my banana popsicle. Just take some yellow clay and shape it into a popsicle. Add a toothpick through it and you're done! (You can even make double popsicles or different "flavors".)

The hamburger is a little more difficult, but it's not too hard. Shape some light brown clay into hamburger buns. In between, shape circular like shapes of green, red, yellow or gold, and dark brown clay. (This will be the lettuce, tomato, cheese, and meat.) Optional: Finally add small white pieces of clay on top of the bun to look like sesame seeds.

The pizza is also neat to make! Sculp some light brown clay into a circle. Add a circle of red clay on top. Finally add uneven shapes of white or ivory clay and place firmly on top of the red clay, leaving some red clay showing. This part can be complicated and will probably take the longest. You can also add red circles on top for pepperoni! You choose!

After you have finished your food, you can bake it in the oven, so that it will harden. I still need to do that... LOL

Then give it to your doll/s! :)

You can make various other treats for your doll as well! You could make candy bars, fruit, a cake, a pie, and lots MORE! Just be creative and have fun!

I hoped you enjoyed reading my first Doll Fun Special! (I think I will be posting another one this month, but when the school year comes around, these types of posts will probably be only once a month. It all depends on how much time I have...

Oh and I decided to post these regularly on my blog, but made a separate page on the top of my blog for all my past posts, so you can easily read one if you missed one. Thank you Rachel for the idea! :)

Doll Fun Special! NEW Feature Preview!

I am so excited to share with you a preview of a NEW feature on my blog! It will officially begin on August 1, 2011!

Now you probably want to know exactly what this new feature is all about, so I will tell you. :)

This new feature is called Doll Fun Special and it will be all about things you can do with/for your doll!

For example, I might post a tutorial on how to do a doll hair style or on how to make different things for your doll! I may eventually even be able to post more videos as well.

Other examples of things you could find on this feature include:
-Sewing ideas,
-Tips
-Photography Tricks
-Crafts
-and MUCH MORE!

After I have posted a tutorial on how to do something, you can try doing it yourself! Then, if you want to, you can take a picture of what you created and send it to me in an email to agfan2010@aol.com and I can upload your picture/s on my blog if you want.

These special posts will happen at least every first day of the month, so the first one will start Monday August 1, 2011! If for some reason I cannot post on the first day of the month, they will just get posted as soon as I can. Of course I may also do these types of posts more frequently than once a month if I have enough time. :)

I am still debating on whether to make a separate page for it on my blog or to just post it regularly. What do you think? Either way I will let you know.

I just planned a fun post for the first Doll Fun Special and I am really looking forward to sharing it with you on August 1st!
